QUA CeraQ™

Ceramic Ultrafiltration Membranes

Ceramic membranes are ideal for challenging water applications where conditions are not well-suited for polymetric membranes, such as wastewater with high fouling or process temperatures.

QUA’s CeraQ™ ultrafiltration (UF) membranes can remove viruses, bacteria, colloidal matter, submicron or micro-sized suspended particles, oil, and organics from a wide range of fluids, including challenging drinking water and industrial wastewater to economically meet a variety of treatment objectives or to recycle or reuse wastewater.

Wide Application Range

Wide Application Range

Membranes are available with various pore sizes, catering to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration needs.

Versatile in Harsh Environments

Versatile in Harsh Environments

Membranes exhibit stability in harsh operating conditions, making them suitable for challenging environments and compatible with aggressive cleaning chemicals.

High-Temperature Compatibility

High-Temperature Compatibility

Membranes can operate at elevated temperatures, providing flexibility in feed water sources and expanding their usability.

CeraQ ceramic UF membranes offer high-quality filtration in virtually any environment due to the rigid construction material. The ceramic membrane has various applications, mainly in treating very difficult to treat water and wastewater or where high-temperature operation is involved. The ceramic membrane is a very viable technology for producing water treatment.

The CeraQ modules consist of 3.5 mm ID ceramic tubular elements potted into bundles for various surface area requirements. The alumina-based ceramic membranes have a proprietary coating that ensures long service life and a high degree of permeance recovery. Other features of CeraQ modules include their durability and material stability, cleaning the membrane with aggressive solvents if required.

CeraQ membrane modules are available in four different pore sizes in the microfiltration and ultrafiltration ranges: 0.4, 0.1, 0.05, 0.01 and 0.005 microns. The various pore sizes address diverse applications with a high degree of particulate removal at a higher flux. CeraQ is ideal for applications where conditions are not well suited for polymeric membranes, such as wastewater with high fouling and process temperatures.

  • Precise pore size distribution enhances particulate removal at higher flux levels, making it ideal for treating challenging wastewater.
  • Tubular configuration eliminates dead pockets and minimizes fouling potential.
  • Alumina-based ceramic membranes with proprietary coating ensure service life longevity and excellent permeance recovery.
  • Great material stability in harsh environments, compatibility with aggressive cleaning chemicals (if necessary), and hot water cleaning capability.
  • Various pore sizes address diverse applications covering microfiltration, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration.
  • Streamlined unit processes in the oil and water separation.
  • Simplified cleaning through efficient backpulsing.
  • High-temperature operation capability, providing flexibility in feed water usage.
