Aquatech Participates in Landmark US-India Critical Minerals Agreement at the 2024 US-India CEO Forum

In a pivotal time for the future of the energy transition and technological innovation, the United States and India have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focused on expanding and diversifying critical mineral supply chains at the US-India CEO Forum The MOU aims to leverage the complementary strengths of both countries to enhance resilience in the critical minerals sector. It outlines the identification of equipment, services, policies, and best practices to support mutually beneficial commercial development across U.S. and Indian critical minerals exploration, extraction, processing, refining, recycling, and recovery. 

The 2024 US-India CEO Forum, co-chaired by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and India Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, serves as a platform for U.S. and Indian leaders to provide guidance on expanding trade and investment between India and the United States. 

Aquatech’s Executive Chairman, Venkee Sharma, serves as the CEO Forum Co-Chair of the Working Group on Energy, Water and Environment and is a leading contributor to the critical minerals partnership framework. He has been an active contributor to the CEO Forum for 7 years. Aquatech is a recognized global leader in end-to-end process solutions to produce technical and battery-grade lithium hydroxide, lithium carbonate and lithium salts. 

Established in 2005, the U.S.-India CEO Forum brings together leaders of the respective business communities of the United States and India to discuss issues of mutual interest, particularly ways to strengthen the economic and commercial ties between the two countries, and to communicate their joint recommendations to the U.S. and Indian governments. CEO Forum members, which represent a total of 22 U.S. companies and 25 Indian companies, include leading global companies, with Lockheed Martin and Tata Sons serving as co-chairs. The respective CEOs are demonstrating their commitment to advancing U.S.-India commercial engagement through agreements like the Critical Minerals MOU.
